Raskin Research Group

Welcome to the Raskin Research Group website!

Our research focuses on engineered water cycle microbiomes. We are developing sustainable ways to recover resources from waste streams and improve public health by studying drinking water processes including biofiltration, disinfection, distribution, and building plumbing systems. The progress made in the field of molecular microbial ecology over the past few decades has been truly amazing and continues to inspire us to rethink our engineered systems so we can better utilize microorganisms to treat water and recover resources from wastewater and other waste streams.
